by Iyalode Yeyefini Efunbolade and priests of IIASK, Inc.
Odu
Obara Meji He who knows does not die like those that don’t know.
Ose Irosun (aiyewo) If rain don’t fall, corn won’t grow.
Ofun Odi (iku) The more you grab, the less you have.
Ogunda Obara (elese Egun) Expect visitors. Twins are coming. Good things come in big and small packages. Unending wars.
Oworin Odi (closed)
Ebo (ritual):
- Mediations with the intentions of helping people in certain communities or for specific causes that uplift us as a people.
- Sponsor challenges on social media that focus on our Ancestors such as; wearing white for 21 days, teach people how to pour libation, teach how to reverence the Ancestors. Invite friends to your Ancestors celebrations.
- Africans in the Diaspora have seen and been through so many things. This year requires that we come together so that we don’t experience so much loss and so that things can grow. Blood, spiritual, and community families can come together as a collective to save ourselves. Meetings, talks, committees, and societies, must be formed because we are under attack for our destinies to be destroyed.
- The ruin of a nation begins in the homes of its people. Make plans within your own family groups and then branch out. Have a clear understanding of what you need to do, then branch out and collaborate with those things that you know work. Spread the word. Secure your livelihood with your neighbors and friends. Share your skills with other members of the Diaspora outside of your own household. We have seen how when Africans in the Diaspora move together, we are powerful. Many people in the Diaspora are moving to Africa to live. Make sure this is about building your wealth, versus an ideology. The African in the Diaspora is the richest group of people on Earth. We are the biggest spenders, but not the biggest creators.
- If rain don’t fall, corn don’t grow. Don’t focus on the negative. We can’t have life without rain, without water. Assess what’s going on, but instead of complaining or blaming, focus on the solution.
- Obara meji. Your lies turn into truths, and your truths turn into lies. Know yourself first, so that you know how to show up. Use your tools.
- Elese Egun (At the feet of our Ancestors) is where things can be resolved. Ogunda Obara. Use your Ancestral magic, medicine, and war tools to help ourselves to know our worth and our value, and to put our money where our mouth is. Build wealth and keep our money in our communities.
- Obara meji says to prepare for financial challenges. Make it a practice to save money for a rainy day. More jobs will be lost and we may be intentionally excluded. Our wealth is in coming together. Do not spend your money idly.
- Plan conferences, meetings, seminars on how to come together. We are the highest educated group. Remember our divine purpose: to be an expression of God. We have a divine destiny. Take care of our mental health. Go to therapy. We must leave a legacy to our children so that they have tools of success. We are the ones that are going to save ourselves.
- Every place that we go, unapologetically pour libation. If it’s not safe for you to pour libation, you don’t need to be there. Pouring libation is the strength of people in the diaspora. Dismantle some of the beliefs that we have about ourselves and know that pouring libation is God worship.
- Stay vigilant on who is trying to take Africa. Be aware and educate ourselves and our children as to what’s happening in Africa. Africa has an abundance of natural resources. It is our wealth and destiny.
- “Each one teach one.” Teach one friend or have a class regarding how to honor and celebrate your Ancestors, whichever you are comfortable with. Invite them over when you are having an Ancestor celebration to honor your Ancestors together. This is a way of expanding Ancestor understanding and connection.
We have to be radical and have a cultural revolution in order to obtain our divine selves. We are well, complete, and divine. Be visible and unapologetically honor your Ancestors.- Be very mindful of children being abducted or sold into slavery. Rituals and ebos can be done regarding this, if it’s on your heart. Focu on matters of juvenile justice.
