52 Years of Obatala Priesthood

52 Years of Obatala Priesthood

Alafia, Peace to you all.
On August 25-26 in 1971   I began my journey as an ordained priestess of Obatala Osagiyan and the daughter of Yemoja and Osun
As I look back the little frightened woman who ventured with her infant son to South Carolina along with 6 other courageous men and women my heart beats with gratitude, joy and curiosity as to what I have accomplished, what I will accomplish and what I am unknowingly capable of accomplishing this incarnation as Iyalode Yeyefini Osuniohun Osasanu, Egbebukunmi Efunbolade.

I thank you all who have been assisted encouraged, challenged and whom I made laugh. You are the inspiration that keeps me in my evolution when I am in doubt, afraid, uplifted, hopeful, strong and confident.

These two dates annually always fills me with nostalgia for what I see as 2 of the most important days of my life other than the day I was born. I thank my the 3 amazing children who chose me as their mother, and who allowed me to be me as only I can be. I thank my maternal ancestors for giving me courage to push through the adventures of my life. I thank my paternal ancestors for giving me the love and appreciation of music and creativity.

I thank you all and ask you to please  continue to allow your ancestors and mine to dance together through this dance we call life.

Iyalode Yeyefini Efunbolade
