27 Feb What Would Your Ancestors Do During Turbulent Times
Blessed Sun and New Moon in Pisces during this Olokun cycle.
I want to take this opportunity to thank each and everyone for attending the phenomenal inspirational podcast and community gathering last night . “Faith and Culture: Exploring African Spirituality without Abandoning Your Beliefs” was the topic.
The inspiration for this topic of our Ask Yeyefini monthly fundraising event was the directives of the Spiritual forecast of the year 2025 for the Diaspora which states ” There is power and blessings continuing to come to those who are living in the Diaspora and practice this faith. We must become more visible, welcoming and generous as we share the beauty and power of this faith. Inviting each other to our annual festival to celebrate the elegance of Yoruba culture will bring tremendous blessings to our lives and the community.
In Unity there is strength, The 7 Principles of Kwanzaa can be an ongoing way of supporting our faith.
We can leave a legacy to our children as to how we were able to come together in spite of the idea of separation practiced by the dominant culture.
God works through you, so by being kind to others is really you being kind to yourself. Understanding that our ancestors live inside of us and expect us to come together whenever possible to stay in community weather locally or globally
Each one of us has an Ori, Egbe, and Ancestors that we signed agreements with. This agreement comes to life when we meet each other on the Earth plane to work and support each other’s destiny.”
Two big noses cannot drink from the same fountain was the proverb of the Odu Obara Fun. This Odu speaks of learning and appreciating how to find ways to settle differences and find love and mutual respect this year as a community and children of the ancestors.
Last night was a beautiful experience where people of the Christian and Yoruba/Ifa/Lukumi/Candomble faith did just that.
In conversation we shed light on the similarities and practices where the central common thread and power was the respect, knowledge and shared experiences of various ways of honoring ancestors looking at spirit and god in texts, prayers, rituals and ceremonies shared by both Christianity and African Traditional Spirituality
What Would Your Ancestors Do?
On this New moon we encourage you to join us FOR THE NEXT 7 DAYS WEAR SOMETHING WHITE (WHETHER TO WORK OR AFTER WORK) LIGHT A WHITE CANDLE, ASK YOUR ANCESTORS TO SHARE WISDOM OF WHAT THEY WOULD DO DURING THIS TIME, AND MEDITATE TO RECEIVE GUIDANCE FROM YOUR ANCESTOR.
The intention of this simple but powerful service is to strengthen our resolve to do everything possible for the inspiration, strength and unity needed during these drastic changes going on in the world.
We are witnessing political changes, social changes, environmental changes , food and shelter insecurities facing us this year .
We encourage you to purchase last night’s webinar.
Because of the interest shared in the event last night we will have a Part Two to the lecture next month March 12th. We will share more information soon.
Happy New Moon in Pisces
