21 Sep blessed autumnal equinox and farewell to summer
Blessed Autumnal Equinox Honoring!!
At times, I am left in awe when I see the genius of the Universe. The allknowing, Divine presence . . . Olodumare, God, Neter, Allah, the Source, Nature; whatever name we identify as the energy that gives us life and breath—that is what I’m talking about.
Olodumare is so generous, wise and abundant that we cannot stop connecting to it and giving thanks. Olodumare in its omniscience, omnipresence, and omnipotence allows me to connect daily and for that I give thanks.
Now that we have said so long to summer, we cannot help but to reflect on how blessed we are to have the hot summer days that gave us the opportunity to connect to the sunshine, cool drinks and cool refreshing swims at the lakes and beaches that Olodumare has shared
with us.
The one thing in life that is constant is change. As we pack away our picnic equipment, flip flops and beach chairs, it is natural for us to think about the upcoming fall season. Like summer, fall has its magic as well. Nature (God) begins to show this by the change in the color of the leaves and the cooler breezes that encourage us to take out our favorite sweaters and shawls. As nature guides us, we can maximize the benefits of this season by preparing our bodies to connect physically, emotionally, and spiritually to Olodumare (God).
Over some 30 years ago, I was introduced (through the Ausar Auset Society) to the value of balancing, realigning, and recharging my body through fasting. Every season, take the opportunity to fast, cleanse, and detoxify for 7 or 21 days. To begin, cleanse with a natural, mild laxative (for example Smooth Move, Get Regular Yogi Tea, or Cascara Sagrada). Secondly, commit to meditating every morning and evening for the duration of your cleanse. Make yourself some wonderful green salads and vegetables juices to help get rid of the old stuff, to welcome the new things God wants to give to you. Drink lots of water and get as much rest as you can by taking a break from radio, computers, and television.
As we look forward to the fall season, Let’s thank Olodumare for her/his abundance of life.
