Blessed month of October
My prayers and compassion are extended to everyone who has experienced loss during the recent hurricane. May this time be a time of connection to our ancestors, our lives and the lives of everyone we hold dear to us.
In the Yeyefini/Balanced living family this is the season we spend time connecting to our ancestors. In many cultures October is the time we clean our ancestral shrines/altars, thanking them for the support the past year. For the next three months of 2024 lets set the intentions to be good stewards of gifts we have received from our familial and community ancestors.
Choose a family member from the list of your ancestors who’s life inspires you and motivates you. Use the ancestors light to be a beacon on which you shed light on during difficult times as well as when you are bursting with the energy to celebrate life’s bountifulness.
Secondly, choose an historical ancestor who’s sacrifices enabled your family to be where you are today.
Set a special sacred space in your home to put a candle, flowers, a container of water where you can meditate and ask for discernment for the requests of your heart. Meditate mornings and evening with gratitude for the protection and blessings you will receive this month of October, November and December. If you have not had a family reunion this year this is a great time to do so perhaps even on zoom where families can connect and celebrate your family legacy.
Have a wonderful month of October as we come together in love forgiveness and gratitude. The African Traditional Faith is the importance of connecting to community.
