What You Perceive You Will Achieve

Alaafia my Friend!

The month of November is the beginning of the traditional Holiday season in the U.S. and around the world. For many, this is a very wonderful time for rekindling family live; however for some it can be a stressful time. The thought and anticipation of the joyous Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Winter Solstice Christmas, Kwanzaa, and New Year celebrations with expectations of connecting with friends and family, gift given can for some people trigger unresolved issues that make their palms sweat, their throat dry, stress and heart beat out of control.
This is a good time to remember to take care of our mental health by giving ourselves permission to connect to counseling, therapists, confidants. We live in a fast ever changing reality and just as our cars require maintenance, we too require assistance and recalibration.

Here are a few recommendations to perhaps make this the best holiday season ever:

1) Don’t assume or anticipate things to be as they were the last time you were together. Give everyone, including yourself, the benefit of the doubt as you realize that everyone has perhaps changed, grown, and expanded their awareness of themselves and of the family.

2) Create meaningful gifts instead of purchasing expensive items with hopes that you will receive one of equal value. Make something that can show the recipient that you did spend time thinking of them. Sometimes framed photos of happy times as children or mementos that reflect that time of their life can open the lines of communication for laughter, healing and gratitude.

3) Deepen your personal relationships and connection with your ancestral altars or shrines through meditation, food offerings, singing and dancing as you welcome their support for the family reconnection.

4) Take lots of white Obatala flower spiritual baths to cleanse yourself, your home and, if need be, your family (Info available on my YouTube channel).

5) For those whose families may not embrace your spiritual or religious beliefs, perhaps consider wearing your charms, beads, talismans inside of your shirt if you are not ready to explain what they represent for you.

6) Don’t spike the eggnog, wine cooler or Kool-aid with overproof alcohol. Doing so will only maximize the “Soap Opera/Telenovela” that could erupt. LOL

7) This is a season to remember that whatever you believe, you will conceive and gratitude holds the power to shift awareness instantly.
If you go to your family gathering believing you are loving, loved, can receive love, and that you chose this family this incarnation then you will be ok ✅
If you are not in a place mentally, spiritually or emotionally to be with your family, remember, ultimately it’s your choice to be happy whether you attend the family gathering or not. Just make sure your mind and heart are at peace with your decision, whatever it is.

8) This is a great opportunity to consider getting a family Spiritual Consultation/Forecast if your family’s issues need deeper or more in-depth assistance with healing and wholeness. (Go to my website to make an appointment)

9) This is also an opportune time to connect to the healing waters of ocean, river, lake or stream to meditate, cry, release stress.
Water rituals reconnects us to the memory of the waters of our mother’s womb our first home.
Water rituals can be a source of connection to our Egbe our comrades playmates in heaven
Creating a sacred space in your home to access our divine mother, Olokun.
She is the mother of all waters, giver of wealth, children and abundance. Her colors are blue, white, and coral. Her emblems are fish, seashells, fishnets, cowries, efun (sacred white chalk), and everything that exists in water.
A sacred space for Olokun can be created by placing a large container of water on a table covered with white cloth. Surrounding the container of water with the aforementioned emblems. Pour a libation, meditate and set intentions for what you want to achieve each day.

10) Another powerful spiritual cleansing ritual for your home is to place a bucket of clean water in the middle of your home every night before going to sleep as you give thanks to Spirit/Source/God/Olodumare. Next morning upon waking up, throw the water out your front door or if you cannot then throw it down the toilet… just say thank you.
This ritual helps to literally “ cleanse the air” while you sleep, recharge and release anything that no longer serves your highest and best good.

Have a successful Holiday Season
