Blessed upcoming father’s day

Blessed upcoming father’s day

Last month we celebrated Mother’s Day with gifts, songs on the radio, cards, money, flowers, dinner and kisses. Somehow there is not the same honor, attention and celebration given to  Father’s Day. Do fathers not want to be showered with love, gifts, flowers, cards and kisses as much as women? Why is it that we have different expectations for men? I personally think it is unfair, unhealthy, and insensitive.

Human beings, no matter their gender, want to feel valued and loved. If you have a father, take this time to love and shower him with the same degree of love. Surprise him with flowers.  I am sure he will not throw them away.  I may hold back the chocolates however…lol!
My father is deceased. While he was alive I spent and wasted precious time by ignoring his existence because of the pain and anger I blamed him for unfairly. I was still healing and growing into the woman I am still becoming.
If you are in some way disconnected from your Dad, Father, Step-Father or the man who raised you, do not waste valuable time.  Put the past grudge(s) away and call him.  Take him a gift, take him to dinner and kiss him all over his face. Tell and show him your gratitude and love. Make a commitment to start building a healthy relationship for both of you.
If your father is deceased, light him a candle and look at his picture.  Connect to his spirit and light.
This Father’s Day, I will put flowers, food and candles on my ancestral altar for my Daddy. I will play salsa music and light him a cigar which he loved. I will thank him for the gifts, experience, and challenges I received from him that have helped me grow into the woman I am becoming.

Happy Father’s Day to my Daddy and all Daddies!

Take this healing bath and reflect on the blessings of paternal energy in your life:

Take a bath and exfoliate your skin with a coarse sponge or loofah to improve circulation and absorption of an herb’s healing and spiritual properties.

Here is an herb that you can diffuse in a tea or add to your bath as a soak before you meditate and set intentions with mantras and affirmations:

Rosemary for sore muscles, scalp stimulation and spiritual nurturing

Affirmation:  ”Love is like a piggy bank, whatever you put in to it you will be able to withdraw when needed”. ~Yeyefini Efunbolade
