03 Oct ask yeyefini show today 7:00pm est facebook youtube and instagram: Honoring masquerades
In African Spiritual Religious Practices connecting to the ancestors and God can be easily accessible through dance, music and art .Calling on the ancestors in times of individual, personal, community or global challenges can be a vehicle to bring comfort to those who are in need of it. In many cultures around the world during the month of October there are very colorful celebrations in honor of All Soul’s day, All Saints Day, Dia de Los Muertos, Halloween, Egungun, Gelede and other types of masquerades.
On the ASK YEYEFINI SHOW Sunday October 3, at 7:00 pm EST on Facebook Instagram and YouTube we will be sharing: What is a Roots Reading, What is Egungun and What is Gelede. On this episode of the Ask Yeyefini Show, Chief Alagba Babatunde Akinsegun known personally as ‘Babatunde” will be my guest. He is a priest of Obatala since age eleven and a member of Egbe Egungun (group dedicated to the veneration of our ancestors) since age 13.
