Blessed Month of June – We Celebrate Oshun

Blessed New Month of June. Osun is the energy of imagination. When Osun’s energy comes upon us, it makes us feel like we’re in love with life! Affirm everyday how great you are, compliment people, make them feel good. This is the love that holds you, makes you compassionate, like the butterfly jumping from one flower to another. The sweet water in your body is the seat of Osun,

Osun is the radiant Orisha of love, beauty, fertility, sensuality, abundance, and fresh waters. She governs rivers and the flowing emotional and spiritual energies connected to the heart. Osun is known for her grace, sweetness, creativity, magnetic energy, and her keen intelligence. She is not just the beautiful woman, she is the artful enchantress, deeply powerful and should never be mistaken as weak. Beneath her softness is wisdom, healing, and divine feminine strength. Osun is that quality in a woman or man which emanates beauty in such a way that vision is not necessary in order to appreciate it. That is why when one thinks of Osun, one thinks of charm. She is the idea of excellence as reflected by refinement, taste, delicacy, and tact. Osun gives psychological and physical pleasure to the senses. Osun is the youngest of the Orisha, she is like the smallest in the order of Orisha, yet she is the most popular and powerful. Osun is a riverine Orisha, and is the owner of Osun River. She is a sweet freshwater stream which sustains life and encourages civilization. She is the Goddess of culture, music, and art. Osun is the owner of brass and her admirers or children wear brass bracelets as their insignia. Some of her other symbols are: the abebe (brass fan), which is the symbol of supplication and reflection; the abere (brass needle) which binds the fabric of society; and agogo ise (brass bells) for summoning the Orisha. As a flower she is represented by the sunflower. Osun’s colors are yellow, gold, amber, pink, red, green, white, and her number is five. She rules the planet Venus.

Prayer for Manifesting Divine Abundance taken from Dr. Ayoka Wiles Quinones book “I hear Olofi’s Song”

Iyalode, Osun, I place my intent on realizing that at the core of abundance is you.

Iya, Osun, your sacred light is ever present in my life. I place my intent on love and as I do that I automatically detach from its outcome. I place my intent on doing good in the world, and I am naturally drawn to what I am to contribute. I place my intent on being fully present for my loved ones. I place my intent on enjoying life and being full of happiness.

I place my intent in free will. I place my intent on being lighthearted and full hearted. I place my intent on being innovative. I place my intent on living in truth and authentic ways. I am the expression of Oldumare, the divine Creator. Osun expressed the abundance in me.

Osun ritual for financial success

Take a pumpkin, cut off the top as if making a jack-o-lantern. Take all of the inside seeds and discard or plant in your yard. Pour in one small bottle of sweet wine. Clean off with silver coins and put them in the pumpkin. Write your desire on 5 eggs. Put the eggs in the pumpkin. Add 5 sprigs of parsley to the pumpkin. Put a small magnet into the pumpkin and pour honey over all of this and pray for what you want. Set a yellow 7-day candle in the middle of the pumpkin and light it.
