02 Oct Blessed Month of October – Ancestors
At the INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE OF AFRICAN STUDIES AND KNOWLEDGE and the Yeyefini/Balanced living Inc family is the season when we come together to spend time connecting to our ancestors. In many cultures October is the time we clean our ancestral shrines/altars, thanking them for the support over the past year. For the next three months of 2026 lets set the intentions to be good stewards of gifts we have received from our familial and community ancestors.
Choose a family member from the list of your ancestors whose life inspires you and motivates you. Use the ancestors’ light to be a beacon on which you shed light during difficult times as well as when you are bursting with the energy to celebrate life’s bountifulness.
Secondly, choose an historical ancestor whose sacrifices enabled your family to be where you are today.
Set a special sacred space in your home to put a candle, flowers, a container of water where you can meditate and ask for discernment for the requests of your heart. Meditate mornings and evenings with gratitude for the protection and blessings you will receive this month of October, November and December. If you have not had a family reunion this year this is a great time to do so perhaps even on zoom where families can connect and celebrate your family legacy

I give light to the Divine. I give light to my Spiritual Guides, Guardian Angels, and Protector Spirits. I give light to my Ancestors so that they may guide me by providing light where there seems to be darkness so that I may clearly be directed down my destined path. I now walk peacefully down the path hand in hand with the divine and all those who guide me in tranquility and love. I now hear clearly as to my purpose, plan, and objective for this moment and for my lifetime. I now see clearly as light shines within me leading me toward prosperity, abundance, progress, and evolution. And so it is. And so I am guided. Ase!
