IMAHKÜS Nzingah Okofu Ababio
For the past thirty (30) years Seestah IMAHKÜS has worked within the Ghanaian community. One of her pet projects was the Educational Sponsorship Program, to unite Diaspora African and Ghanaian families and raise funds to provide educational opportunities for less fortunate children, from Primary thru Senior High School, in addition to finding donors to install Bore Holes in villages that are without water. She has been setting examples for other Africans from the America’s and encouraging them to return home to their “Mother” land, Africa.
AUTHOR and STORY TELLER, The author of a fantastic book, “Returning Home Ain’t Easy But it Sure Is A Blessing,” which chronicles her and her Kingman’s sojourn and resettlement in Ghana, the land of their ancestors; “A Travel Guide” Points to Ponder When Considering Repatriating Home to Mother Afrika to Live or Visit. She has also co-authored “Ababio, He/She Who Has Returned”; A 21st Century Anthology of African Diaspora returnees to Ghana. Her books are extraordinary manifestations of her personal experiences while demonstrating what it takes to settle and make Ghana your home. IMAHKÜS is a prolific writer and her candid sense of humor makes for an admirable, enjoyable yet serious and commendable read.
Mama IMAKHUS is now involved with Rweru Rwanda Women’s Economic Empowerment and Human Values Initiative Project, based on the needs of Rweru and Rich Hearts” to maintain and promote positive impacts on the Rwandan society, through peace building, remembrance of genocide against Tutsi, where they visit memorial sites, meet some of the victims to show consolidarity and annual visits to genocide survivors whom they give various forms of support and whose long-term vision is to promote Peace and Humanity, empower women and youth for self-reliance and be the positive change that Africa so desperately needs.
